2023 WFA Annual General Meeting
We are delighted to announce that The WFA has successfully concluded its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for member clubs. This event served as a crucial platform for The WFA community to come together and shape the future of powerchair football.
A significant highlight of this AGM was the exciting appointment of Dean Williams as The WFA’s new Chairperson. Dean’s exceptional leadership skills, combined with his extensive experience, make him an excellent choice to lead The WFA towards greater success, exposure, and inclusivity. With a proven record of effective leadership and strategic thinking, Dean will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective and valuable contributions to the association.
The AGM provided an opportunity to express heartfelt appreciation to Brian Dix, the outgoing Chairperson, for his unwavering commitment and dedicated service to The WFA over the past few years. Brian’s invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping The WFA into the thriving association it is today.
In addition, we are happy to announce that Rob Thompson has been re-elected for a three-year term as Vice-Chairperson (Football), reaffirming his pivotal role in advancing the sport. Likewise, Paul Gorman has been re-elected as Vice-Chairperson (Governance), highlighting his ongoing contributions to ensuring effective governance within The WFA.
The AGM also saw the unanimous re-election of Jon Bolding as The WFA’s Player Representative, reflecting his exceptional understanding of the players’ needs and his unwavering commitment to their interests. We express our sincere appreciation to Jon for his continued dedication.
Furthermore, we welcome Jack Humphries as The WFA’s new National League Secretary. Jack’s appointment brings fresh energy and organisational skills to this vital role. At the same time, we would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of Anthony Nweke, the outgoing National League Secretary, and thank him for his contributions.
We want to thank all members, players, coaches, volunteers, and contributors who have helped make this season one of the most successful to date. Your unwavering support, dedication, and passion have been instrumental in driving the growth of our sport.
