New WFA Chairperson
We’re delighted to officially introduce Dean Williams as the new Chairperson of The WFA. Stepping into his role today, Dean brings a wealth of experience with a rich background that intersects sport, leadership, and personal development.
Prior to joining us, Dean served as a Non-Executive Director at Welsh Gymnastics and a Trustee at Hope and Homes for Children. He also currently serves as the Chairman of Sleaford Town FC. His time in these roles has given him a deep understanding of the governance, strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight required to lead successful sporting organisations.
As a globally renowned executive coach and a member of the Forbes Coaches Council, Dean has built a reputation for his strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster progress and improvement in organisations. He is known for challenging executive teams to cultivate high-performance cultures, beginning with comprehensive assessments, establishing tangible targets, and resolving any existing challenges.
One of Dean’s most significant achievements as Chairman of Sleaford Town FC was creating a three-year blueprint for the club that led to their highest finish in a century. He also spearheaded the development of CP Football at Sleaford Town, providing a platform for children with cerebral palsy to participate in the sport.
Dean believes in leading by example, fostering a positive and collaborative environment, and helping individuals maximise their potential. His commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and equal opportunities aligns perfectly with the ethos of The WFA.
In his new role as WFA Chairperson, Dean plans to leverage his skills and experience to inspire and unite the community, striving to provide safe and inclusive football experiences for all. We are confident that under his leadership, The WFA will continue to flourish, drive innovation, and expand the accessibility of the sport.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dean as he embarks on his new role. Together, we will work towards our vision of making powerchair football an empowering and inclusive sport for all.
